People — Viewing and Management
The People page is your church directory inside the portal. It's where you find a phone number, check whether someone is on a ministry team, or look up a member's serving history.

What you can do here
Depending on your role, the People page lets you:
- Search by name, email, or phone number.
- Filter by campus, ministry, or member type.
- View a profile with contact info, ministries, and recent assignments.
- Add or edit ministry membership (leaders only).
- Mark or change member type (admins only).
Searching for someone
The search bar matches partial strings across name, email, and phone — so typing cruz, david.cruz@, or 555-2341 all find David Cruz.
- Click the search bar at the top of the People page.
- Type at least two characters.
- Pick the right person from the live suggestions.
Click the result to open their profile.
Filtering the list
Use the filter chips above the list:
- Campus — narrow to one location.
- Ministry — show only people on a specific team.
- Member type — Radical, Trailblazer, or G&A.
- Active / Inactive — by default only active members are shown.
What's on a person's profile
Click any name to open their profile. You'll see:
- Photo and full name at the top.
- Contact info — email, phone, address (visibility depends on your role).
- Member type — Radical / Trailblazer / G&A.
- Campus — primary campus.
- Ministries — every team they serve on.
- Recent assignments — last 30 days of serving.
- Upcoming assignments — next 30 days of serving.
- Notes (admin/leader only) — pastoral or scheduling reminders.

Adding someone to a ministry (leaders)
If you're a ministry leader, you can add an existing member to your ministry directly from their profile.
- Open the person's profile.
- Click + Add to Ministry.
- Pick your ministry from the dropdown (only ministries you lead are shown).
- Optionally pick a role (e.g., Vocalist, Greeter).
- Click Add.
The person now appears in your ministry roster and is eligible for scheduling.
Removing someone from a ministry (leaders)
- Open the person's profile.
- Find your ministry in their Ministries list.
- Click Remove.
- Confirm.
This does not delete the person — it only removes the link to your ministry. Past serving records remain.
Editing member type (admins)
Member type drives which volunteer pool a person appears in by default.
- Open the person's profile.
- Click Edit member type.
- Choose Radical, Trailblazer, or G&A.
- Save.
A real example
Sarah, a Worship leader, wants to add Mia (a new member) to the Worship team:
- Sarah opens People.
- She types
miain the search bar. - She clicks Mia Tan from the suggestions.
- On Mia's profile, Sarah clicks + Add to Ministry.
- She selects Worship and picks the role Backing Vocals.
- She clicks Add.
Mia now shows up in Sarah's Worship roster, ready to be assigned to upcoming Sundays via the Schedule Editor.
What you can expect
- Searches return results within a second, even on large directories.
- Profile data updates instantly when edited.
- Removing someone from a ministry is reversible — just add them back.
- Some fields (date of birth, home address) are hidden from non-admins.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Looking for someone new and not finding them. They probably haven't been added to ChurchCRM yet. Check with your admin.
- Confusing "Remove from ministry" with "Delete person". The portal doesn't let you delete members — only unlink them from a ministry.
- Editing member type casually. It's a pastoral classification; treat it as such.
- Searching by partial phone numbers with formatting.
(555)may not match555-. Type just the digits.
